Winners Announced 

We had a great day on Thursday at the British Medical Association for the final event for the Digital Innovation Contest – Clinical Excellence. The contest, run in partnership with BMJ, University College London and Bupa, was launched to encourage emerging opportunities for digital innovation in the health sector. 

Fifteen finalists across the five contest challenges took part in the event, with each getting 10 minutes to pitch to the panel of judges. IC tomorrow is very pleased to announce the five winners:

Driving Clinical Excellence

Winner: HomeTouch - Care Provider Dashboard by HomeTouch
"A care dashboard that delivers reassuring information to the family and quality of care improvements for the care provider"

Leveraging clinical and experiential data to improve health outcomes supported by BMJ and University College London

 WINNER: Geneix – Harnessing the power of big data and genetics to improve prescribing practices by Geneix 
" Reducing adverse drug reactions and personalising medicine through innovative software and genetics."

Adapting clinical content tools for the developing world using crowd-sourcing to localise clinical content supported by BMJ and University College London

 WINNER: Open Mobile Telepathology by CookieSmart 
" Open Mobile Telepathology helps doctors in developing countries share biopsies over the web, creating a network for crowd sourced diagnosis."

Consumer health information supported by BMJ

 WINNER: Getwell games by Getwell Media 
"Getwell media makes mobile games for patients based on clinical evidence data."

Improving patient/consumer health behaviours and understanding supported by Bupa and University College London

WINNER: "Innovation in Adaptive Media for Stress and Anxiety Management"  (iAMSAM) by BioBeats  
"A mobile/web service providing stress management solutions to patients and consumers, and insight services to mental health providers."

Each winner will potentially be awarded funding to develop their prototype solution and run a trial with the relevant contest partner.
